Bookkeeper

About the role

This role is focused on core financial record keeping. The role will assist other staff in the team and exhibit personal commitment to the mission of Twin Rivers Church. This is a part time role - 22.8 hours per week. Ongoing subject to funding and operational requirements.

Twin Rivers Church is a member of Australian Christian Churches and is a registered not-for-profit charity with Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC). Twin Rivers Church, through its care arm Twin Rivers Community Care Ltd (also a registered not-for-profit charity with ACNC), plays an important role delivering projects in accordance with its Constitution to assist the local community. Such projects and activities provide for the direct relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune and helplessness of disadvantaged people in the community, regardless of sex, race, ethnic background, religion, political beliefs or marital status.

Role and Responsibilities

 Process and record all accounts payable and receivable.

 Make supplier payments as they become due.

 Raise and issue invoices to clients when due.

 Liaison with the external accountant if and when needed.

 Process staff payroll and related payments including leave and superannuation.

 Maintain staff payroll records.

 Accurate set-up of new employees in MYOB.

 Assist staff with information on their own salaries or wages as needed.

 End of month reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards of Twin Rivers Church and Twin Rivers Community Care Ltd.

 Collate monthly Managers’ reports into an end-of-month Board Report.

 Other administrative duties as required from time to time.

 Maintain confidentially in relation to personal details of employees and volunteers.


Key Job Requirements

 Experience in bookkeeping and office practices.

 Experience with MYOB accounting software.

 Ability to quickly acquire understanding of the operating environment and governance requirements for a NFP or charitable organisation.
